Soft Contents Cleaning

Soft contents cleaning is the specialized restoration of textiles — clothing, bedding, linens, drapery, stuffed animals, shoes — after smoke, soot, water, or mold exposure. It is not dry cleaning: restoration laundering removes contaminants and odor at the fiber level, with every garment tagged, tracked, and returned to its owner's inventory.

If this is your home

The clothes on your back and the quilt your grandmother made get the same tracking discipline as everything else we touch: tagged in, cleaned with restoration-grade processes (not a strip-mall dry cleaner), and returned to you — not to a pile. Priority turnaround on the essentials you need this week.

If this is your claim file

Restoring textiles typically runs a fraction of replacement cost. We provide per-item disposition — restored, pending, or non-salvageable — so the soft goods portion of the claim closes on documentation, not estimates.

How it works

  1. Tag and inventory

Each piece is tagged with a unique ID at intake and logged against the loss inventory — owner, room of origin, pre-cleaning condition photo.

  2. Assess and sort

Items are sorted by fiber, contamination type, and salvageability. Anything unlikely to restore is flagged for the total-loss schedule before processing costs accrue.

  3. Restoration cleaning

Smoke, soot, water, and odor are treated with restoration-specific laundering through our textile-restoration specialists, plus in-house ozone/hydroxyl deodorization — processes matched to the fiber, not one machine for everything.

  4. Inspect, pack, return

Every piece is quality-checked, photographed post-cleaning, packed clean, and returned with the rest of your contents — or expedited to you when you need it sooner.

The record

What gets documented

Every service we run feeds the same claim-grade record. For soft contents, that means:

  • Unique tag ID per item, linked to the master inventory
  • Pre- and post-cleaning condition photos
  • Per-item disposition: restored / pending / non-salvageable
  • Priority list tracking for rush-return essentials
  • Line-item costs that price against replacement value
