Contents Inventory & Total-Loss Documentation
A contents inventory is the itemized, photographed record of everything a loss touched — what can be restored, what can't, and what it's worth. We produce carrier-standard inventories and total-loss schedules: room-by-room photos, condition notes, quantities, and Xactimate-ready line items that an adjuster can drop straight into the claim file.
If this is your home
After a serious loss, your insurer will ask you to list everything you owned — from memory, at the worst possible time. We do that work for you, professionally: every item photographed, described, counted, and valued in a format your carrier accepts. The inventory is yours, and it usually pays for itself in items you'd have forgotten to claim.
If this is your claim file
Self-prepared contents lists are the slowest document in the file. We deliver structured inventories — depreciable categories, quantities, condition, photo reference per line — that map to Xactimate without re-keying, plus a separate non-salvageable schedule for total-loss processing.
How it works
Define the scope
Full-structure total loss, single-room loss, or disputed-items review — we agree the boundaries and the deliverable format with you and the adjuster first.
Photograph everything
Systematic room-by-room capture: wide shots for context, item-level shots for the record, serial numbers and maker's marks where they exist.
Build the inventory
Items are logged with description, quantity, condition, age estimate, and category using Encircle and iCat — the same platforms carriers' own teams use.
Deliver the schedules
You and the adjuster receive a restorable inventory and a separate total-loss schedule, formatted for Xactimate, with the full photo set linked line by line.
The record
What gets documented
Every service we run feeds the same claim-grade record. For inventory & total-loss, that means:
- Item-level photo record with timestamps and room mapping
- Description, quantity, condition, and age per line item
- Serial numbers and identifying marks captured where present
- Separate non-salvageable / total-loss schedule
- Xactimate-compatible categories and formatting
- Digital delivery to homeowner and adjuster simultaneously
